Fabulous experience. To start, the views outside are beautiful. The restaurant was petit and so serenely decorated with its small natural cave area in the background. The food was delicious and cooked fresh by the chef owner (felt like granny “nonna”) was taking care of you. We had some delicious gnocchi with a traditional meat and tomato sauce followed by the most delicious stewed wild boar and sautéed Swiss chard. The wild boar was so tender, and aromatic, seasoned with fresh rosemary herbs and juniper. I would highly recommend making this a stop if you are passing through this area.- Servizio

My husband and I hiked up the trail from the Menotre Rainfalls. The trail comes out at the north end of Pale and opens up into a bright open square with stunning views. When Giovanna from L'Abbadessa Ristorante greeted us with her energetic sweet personality and we had to stay for lunch! Ristorante L’Abbadassa was one of our favorite stops in a week’s long journey in Italy. The food was amazing and the service made us feel like we were part of the family. We can not wait to come back on our next visit to Umbria.

Most amazing restaurant in Pale and maybe all of Umbria. From the moment we met Fabiola and her beautiful mother, we were treated like family. (Massimo was kind as well!). The food was delicious, the views amazing, the town wonderful. I loved the tiramisu so much, I ordered it twice! You can tell this family’s passion and dream are thriving in this restaurant.

Un piccolo gioiello, ideale per scoprire i veri sapori Umbri cucinati con amore da mamma e figlia, con prodotti ottimi. Atmosfera intima e famigliare, in un piccolo locale curatissimo con arredo originale degli anni 50/60. Tutto ottimo dagli antipasti al dolce, e per chi ama il genere consiglio vivamente la coratella d'agnello e gli gnocchi di Giovanna.

Aspettatevi un’ accoglienza calorosa degna di “ casa della nonna”; la Signora Giovanna trova sempre il tempo per scambiare due parole con gli ospiti e sua figlia Fabiola sempre sorridente e gentile saprà consigliarvi i piatti ed i vini più adatti a voi, in poche parole il servizio e’ imparaggiabile. Non da meno la cucina, qui potrete sentire i veri sapori dell’ Umbria, dal tartufo rigorosamente fresco, colto e lavorato da loro stessi, così come i salumi fino alla carne e le verdure fresche di giornata. Se passate da Pale la tappa e’ d’ obbligo! Noi ci siamo trovati per caso la prima sera che siamo arrivati e ce ne siamo innamorati tanto che prima di ripartire siamo tornati necessariamente per chiudere la vacanza in bellezza. Signora Giovanna always finds time to chat with guests, and her daughter Fabiola, always smiling and kind, will recommend the best dishes and wines for you. In short, the service is unparalleled. The cuisine is equally impressive; here you can experience the true flavors of Umbria, from the strictly fresh truffles, picked and processed by them, to the cured meats, meat, and fresh vegetables of the day. If you're passing through Pale, this is a must! We stumbled upon it by chance the first night we arrived and fell in love with it so much that before leaving, we had to return to end our vacation on a high note. Es war einfach nur phantastisch. Die Mama hat für uns gekocht, obwohl wir kurz vor Ladenschluss gekommen sind. Wir hatten drei Gänge. Im Hauptgang die Empfehlung, Wildschwein. Es war ein Gedicht. Alle sind sehr freundlich und herzlich. Vielen lieben Dank.

Ottima esperienza, mamma Giovanna e Fabiola in cucina preparano ottime paste e gnocchi e dolci fatti in casa mentre Luca serve a tavola intrattenendo gli ospiti. Ottime pappardelle al cinghiale, gnocchi al tartufo ( siamo tornati anche la sera successiva), ottime anche le costolette di abbacchio impanate, spezzatino di agnello al tartufo ed il brasato di vitello e le patate fritte…quelle vere!!!

Genuino, in tutti i sensi.
Abbiamo gustato un pranzo completo, con piatti cucinati magistralmente, secondo le tradizioni del luogo e con alimenti di prima qualità e scelta (tartufo in primis).
È tutto curato nei minimi dettagli.
La signora in cucina e lo staff sono molto accoglienti, affettuosi e cordiali.
Il cinghiale "in bianco" davvero strepitoso ( saperlo preparare e cuocere non è affatto facile ), gli strengozzi, fatti in casa, buonissimi. Unico, piccolo ( ma proprio piccolo ) appunto: avremmo gradito un pochino più tartufo nel primo. Rapporto qualità prezzo buono ( circa 50€ a coperto ).

The town of Pale di Foligno (a few kilometers from Rasiglia) is pleasant. It is worth a visit. In the characteristic Piazza Elisei there is this little restaurant, informal, characteristic and... Genuine, in every sense. We enjoyed a complete lunch, with dishes cooked masterfully, according to local traditions and with top quality and choice foods (truffles first and foremost). Everything is taken care of down to the smallest details. The lady in the kitchen and the staff are very welcoming, affectionate and friendly. The wild boar "in white" is truly amazing (knowing how to prepare and cook it is not easy at all), the strengozzi, homemade, delicious. Unique, small (but really small) in fact: we would have liked a little more truffle in the first course. Good value for money (about €50 per cover). Recommended.
